Update - Following our previous update, we can confirm that all schools impacted by this incident have now had the applicable SMS credits refunded. These credits have been successfully applied and are immediately available for use.

No further action is required from schools. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the incident or the applied credits, please contact the Sentral Support team.

Identified - We recently experienced an issue with our third-party SMS provider that caused messages sent between 2:40 PM on 25 June and 1:00 AM on 26 June (AEST) to become stuck and not be delivered. These messages remained in an “Awaiting Dispatch” state during the incident window.

All affected messages have now been aborted and will not be sent, and SMS services are currently operating as normal. At this stage, the provider has not supplied a confirmed root cause, and we are continuing to follow up for further details.

We have confirmed that schools were charged for SMS messages during this period despite the delivery failure. Credits will be applied to fully refund the impacted message expenditure.

During this maintenance window, we will perform infrastructure upgrades to improve the performance and stability of the AUPRD09 database environment. This work includes upsizing the AUPRD09 server SKU in response to sustained high CPU utilisation.

All Sentral sites on AUPRD09 will be unavailable for the duration of the maintenance window.

We will post an update when the maintenance begins and provide a further notification once the work has been successfully completed.

Resolved - System performance has remained stable following an earlier issue where the AUPRD04 hosting cluster became unresponsive.

The issue was mitigated by redirecting traffic to an alternate service. The exact root cause is currently unknown.
